For my thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways my ways, says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.  Isaiah 55:8-9 (NRSV)

VISION & MISSION of a SHARED MINISTRY WITH TIMBER RIDGE AND FAIRFIELD PRESBYTERIAN CHURCHES

This VISION & MISSION PAGE has:

VISION

Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church Vision

T = Transforming

R = Reflecting

P = Promoting

C = Committing

for Jesus Christ

Transforming through the Holy Spirit,

Reflecting on our past and envisioning our future,

Promoting church for all people,

Committing to service and witnessing for Jesus Christ!

Transforming

through the Holy Spirit,

And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.  2 Corinthians 3:18

Reflecting

on our past and envisioning our future,

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus the pioneer and perfecter of our faith, who for the sake of the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.  Hebrews 12:1-2a

Promoting

church for all people,

Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having the goodwill of all the people. And day by day the Lord added to their number those who were being saved.  Acts 2:46-47a

Committing

to service and witnessing for Jesus Christ!

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.  Matthew 28:19-20

2.  Reflecting by prayerfully considering innovation and change, while honoring tradition.

3.  Promoting by exploring opportunities for new fellowship and faith sharing through enthusiastic community building.

4.  Committing by responding to God’s call as outlined in The Great Commission.

Visions/Goals of a shared ministry between Timber Ridge and Fairfield Presbyterian Church

    A.  Building membership and strengthening programs (i.e. Youth and Young Adult Programs)

    B.  Developing a positive image for the church in the community

    C.  Discerning what the scope of the ministry should be, and the possibilities for each church becoming self-sufficient in the future.

    D.  Maintaining and strengthening the mission and programs of each church.

The church is comprised of many members who share similar values, a journey in faith, and a love of God.  You can see a directory of pictures which portray this on the Picture Map page.  The following pictures of the seasons of the church give a message of how our church building represents the vision and mission of those who worship on the timber ridge.  These pictures of the church building were taken by Burton R. Floyd III.
