When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit.   Acts 2:1-4a (NRSV)

PENTECOST

Red filled the sanctuary on Pentecost Sunday 2004 as we celebrated the birth of the Christian church.  Many wore red that day which was echoed in the red balloons all of us and especially the children enjoyed.  We were reminded of the energy of Pentecost and how we can be energized witnesses to God's love and power.  We sang happy birthday to the church that day and celebrated with birthday cake.  We were reminded that this church on timber ridge is made of old stones and that we can burn as living stones on fire with the love of God.
