VVVVV | For in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers—all things have been created through him and for him. He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together. Colossians 1:16-17 (NRSV)
GUIDELINES
This GUIDELINES PAGE has: COMMUNITY BUILDING POLICYTimber Ridge Presbyterian Church Community Building Policy Outline
The Property Committee encourages the use of the Community Building: however, any function for profit will not be allowed unless it is sponsored by Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church. The determination of this will rest with the Property Committee.
All other non-church activities will require a small fee of $40.00 per day.
Persons wishing to use the Community Building should contact Betty Lucas at 540-377-2253 to schedule the event.
Once the schedule is set, they must contact our church sexton who is responsible for opening the building, turning on the heat, and securing the building after the event. He may help set up for the meeting as well. If you have further questions or comments please contact the Property Committee Chairperson.

Back to TopWEDDING POLICYTimber Ridge Presbyterian Church Wedding Policy
1. All weddings scheduled at Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church require Session approval. We recommend that the pastor be contacted in advance of the proposed wedding plans. We suggest you give yourself six months to avoid possible scheduling conflicts, to secure Session approval, and to allow time for premarital counseling. 2. Smoking is not permitted in the Sanctuary or on any other church property. 3. Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on the church premises at any time and no one under the influence of alcohol will be permitted to take part in the wedding or the rehearsal. 4. The bride is responsible for transmitting the following policies to the florist(s) and photographer(s). a. Elaborate decorations are unnecessary and even out of place in the sanctuary for a service of Christian worship. The sanctuary has been planned and furnished with symbols of our Christian faith so that it may be a place of reverent worship with a minimum of flowers. All pulpit furniture must remain on the platform unless prior arrangements have been made with the Worship Committee. The communion Table may be moved and replaced thereafter. b. The church is in sympathy with the desire to preserve in pictures moments of this significant event. However, because the wedding ceremony is a sacred worship service, no distractions cam be allowed. Therefore, no pictures may be taken in the sanctuary during the ceremony which begins with the opening words of the minister and ends with the benediction. 5. The community building is available for wedding receptions. Reserve in advance with Betty Lucas to avoid scheduling conflicts. 6. The use of confetti is prohibited on or around the church property. Rice or other grains are not to be used in the sanctuary or the community building. 7. Members of Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church pay no fee for the use of the facilities. For non-members, a fee will be charged for the use of these facilities. 8. A fee of $100 will be charged to all wedding parties for the professional services of the church organist. Securing additional musicians and soloists is the responsibility of the wedding party. 9. No fee will be charged to church members for the pastor’s pre-marital or wedding service. The pastor may charge non-members nominal fees for such services.
We appreciate your cooperation with these policies. It is a happy privilege for the congregation to provide its facilities and staff for your wedding and pray God’s richest blessings will be with you and the home you are establishing. The Session of Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church
