Flood

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour. Isaiah 43:2-3 (NRSV)

FLOOD

The flood of 1995 damage many areas in the county. During the sudden downpour a group was meeting at the community building and due to the flooding had to escape to the church where they thought they might have to spend the night. Fortunately the water receded and they were able to return home that evening. As the waters receded the damage to the church and manse driveways shown below became apparent. The damage was quickly fixed so that folks could drive through these areas again. The waters are symbolic of God's power and the power of his creation, the washing and cleansing of Jesus' blood, and the new life to come.
