Deuteronomy 16:15 (NRSV) FALL FESTIVAL 10/16/2004 Each October the folks of Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church join together to hold a Fall Festival which is a day of fun and fellowship for all that entails weeks of preparation and the involvement of many people. In the week before the festival embers peel apples for the apple butter, prepare ingredients for the stew, organize the white elephant sale, and many other tasks. The day of the festival sees many folks up before the sunrise starting the fires under the kettles. As the sun rises so does the number of folks participating in the festival both as workers and shoppers. The end of the days brings tired but happy folks who have worked hard for a worthy cause. For quite a number of years the proceeds from this festival went to benefit the Neriah Foodbank which closed at the end of 2004. Future years proceeds will benefit other hunger programs.
