For a child has been born for us, a son given to us; authority rests upon his shoulders; and he is named Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Isaiah 9:6 (NRSV)

LIVING NATIVITY

The vacant stable awaits the birth of a child and the living nativity which professes our faith in the virgin birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and what his life, sacrifice, death, and resurrection made available to all who believe.  It is our hope that many of you will visit the living nativity and find the peace that God brings.

The stable comes alive and the living nativity glows with the joy of Jesus' birth as Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, the wise men, the angel, and even the animals rejoice in our Savior's birth when God became one of us fully human, fully divine, knowing our pains and sorrows and sharing in our joys.

Members of Timber Ridge Presbyterian Church and Fairfield Presbyterian Church brave the cold temperatures and provide all who pass the living nativity on foot or in vehicles with a beautiful depiction of Jesus' birth.  The joyous carols ring out through the quiet night to share the story and the glory of the birth of our Lord in songs and beautiful music.  Many people from both churches made this possible working behind the scenes for several months planning and making possible the beautiful testimony to our faith, a living reminder of the humble birth of our servant King!

The young and the young at heart are drawn to the stable to get a closer look at those who silently share their faith and at the animals abiding there.  There's many a touch to the animals and many whose hearts are touched by the scene portrayed each of the five nights in December 2004.

And so the time has come for the shepherds to return to their fields and the wise men to their return to their normal lives and all are touched by this baby Jesus who has come to serve and save the people of His earth throughout the world.  Those who portrayed the Biblical characters and those who came to see, touch, and share in the experience return to their lives with a living memory of our servant King's birth.  Glory be to God in the Highest, peace on earth to each person with whom we share our journey in this earthly realm.
